Let’s Catch Up

Hello. I write this from my bed where I am eating a bowl of Annie’s Macaroni & Cheese on a Sunday evening. Yesterday morning I was writing with coffee in bed and my father asked me if something was wrong with my desk and I said, “I’m sick of it.”

I have a few things to share:

I wanted to officially let everyone know that I now have my own column at The Faster Times. It’s called “Love & Music.” Seems vague, huh? That’s what I  like about it. It will always be different. My mind is exploding with ideas.  I’m thinking I will post something new bi-weekly. You can check out my first two pieces so far: The Art Teacher and Six Music Memories Of My Father. If anyone has ideas for the column or suggestions or requests or collaboration ideas or music memories with me that they would like to prompt me with–I’d love to hear them and you can email me at cocomonet@gmail.com.

Next up: Michael Juliani, a journalist for Neon Tommy conducted this interview with me which I really enjoyed doing. You can read it here.

And hey–do you know about The Lit Pub? The Lit Pub is great. If you haven’t already you should check them out and support them. It’s a very exciting thing they have going on. Here’s how they describe themselves:

Our mission is to promote a sustainable literary community by introducing readers to authors we know and love. By providing a public gathering place for ongoing conversations, we aim to connect readers, authors, publishers, and other independent artists of all creative disciplines.

Other things that I did last week: I wore the shortest dress I’ve ever worn. I wore the highest heels I’ve ever worn. I tumbled down a flight of stairs in both of these things after  four plus glasses of champagne and now have more bruises at one time than I’ve ever had, and a knee the size of a grapefruit. I think I might have asked for it though.

Books I’m simultaneously reading: Torch by Cheryl Strayed. Everything Beautiful Began After by Simon Van Booy. What We Keep by Elizabeth Berg.

Book I’m anxiously waiting to arrive in the mail: The Art Of The Personal Essay: An Anthology from the Classical Era to the Present.

More soon.

Yours,

Chloe

  1. Loved reading your first two pieces Clo! I can certainly visualize you and your Mom belting out those songs together!! Looking forward to more of your writing!

  2. Congrats on the TFT column, Chloe! Your “The Art Teacher” essay was fabulous. That song is near and dear to me as well.
