BOOTY CALL & WORDSTOCK

The Booty Call Reading Series was a BALL. I shouldn’t be allowed to have that much fun.

Waiting backstage with a beer.
Reading and laughing.

Booty Call was reviewed by The Outlet, where they said some funny things about me, like that I pointed the POV gun at my head. H.A.L. Publishing mentioned it on their site too.

The next day was WORDSTOCK weekend!

Check it out! I met Lidia Yuknavitch, author of The Chronology Of Water. When I spotted her my stomach flipped. It’s a really incredible thing to be able to tell an author how much their book meant to you. I even acted out for her the way I walked around my house with one hand over my mouth and one on my stomach while reading some scenes of COW.

Lidia and I, hungover
Outside the Wordstock convention center.

Four more things:

1)My friend Skye Tyler and I wrote a collaborative piece and it was named finalist in the Hudson Valley Writer’s Guild Non-fiction contest.

2)I have a poem in Chronogram, a Hudson Valley Arts Magazine. It’s free but if you don’t live in upstate New York, you can read it online here.

3) I have an essay called Long May You Run featured in SmallDoggies Magazine.

4) Have you read this essay in The Rumpus by Sean H. Doyle? It’s brave and beautiful.

Until soon,

Chloe
