The first installment of my new reading series is THIS SATURDAY–November 12th at 7pm. It’s going to be super fun, with booze, music, and words, from authors I admire: Eric Wybenga, Danielle Winterton, Mira Ptacin, Daniel Nester, Sean H. Doyle, Kendra Grant Malone, Matthew Savoca, and Ryder Collins. I hope you can make it if you are in the New York area. RSVP and read more about the readers here. I’m really looking forward to it.
When I was in Portland, Oregon, Judy Osello of Electric Literature met up with me at a bar and asked me some questions. We discussed my experience of writing in East and West coast cities and being authentic to place and time. It was a really fun and unique interview. Read it here.
I have a new piece in the November issue of Awosting Alchemy, which is a NY based magazine full of writing and art. Last night I read at Awosting Alchemy’s one year anniversary party in Kingston, New York. I read my story “That Was Called Love” and dedicated it to one of my best friends, Noelle, who was in the audience. It’s about when she and I were in our early twenties and lived together in Brooklyn. I almost cried.
